Moon Stories

Moon Stories

One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to deepen my relationship with the moon, so the very first thing I did this year was create a moon calendar and look for new tales to add to my collection of moon stories.

The moon has been with us since the very beginning of time, guiding us in the darkness month after month. Many creation myths exist about the mysterious, changing moon: in some cultures, they say there is a man in the moon, others a woman, some say they see a rabbit in the moon while others see a fox.

What is clear is that each month the moon passes through 8 different phases and it is said that if we tune into the lunar cycles and co-create with her, we can plan the life we desire and attract abundance. I have been doing this for several years now and have learnt a lot from having the moon as my guide.

The moon has a powerful influence over our emotions, moods, cycles, instincts and our femininity. At different times in the month, she can affect our home and domestic life and our basic needs for food and nourishment. She also connects us to our past, our childhood, our roots and the subconscious.

Every lunation is unique, depending on where it is in the cosmic dance and in our birth charts and each one offers specific energies and hidden treasures that can influence our daily lives here on Earth.

The New Moon

The new moon gives us the opportunity to start anew every month and it is full of infinite possibilities. It’s the perfect time to stop, go within and connect to our dreams and goals. We can make new moon wishes and set intentions and sow these seeds so that they grow with the waxing moon.

The Full Moon

The full moon is the culmination of the lunar cycle. When the moon is at its brightest it can shed light on our shadow aspect and help us to see what is out of balance emotionally and physically in our lives. It’s a powerful time for doing some inner work, looking within to see what needs to be released, with the wanning moon, to promote healing and wellbeing.

Want to know More?

I highly recommend keeping a moon diary and observing how you feel throughout the lunar cycles.  I use the following moon diaries: The Moonology Diary by Yasmin Boland and the We’Moon Gaia Rhythms for Womyn.

If you wish to know more about working with lunar cycles you could read Yasmin Boland’s book Moonology or join my sessions of Moon Stories on the nights of the new moon and the full moon on onlinevents.co.uk.
